What is Dropship [DSV] at David Jones?

DSV at David Jones allows Vendors and Brands to sell directly to our customers alongside our core wholesale range.
We provide the platform, manage transactions and customer service, as well as work back with vendors in partnership to ensure we are offering our customer the best possible assortment online.
 
We break down our operations into 3 key channels/models, these are:
  1. Online Only [Marketplace]: Brands selling exclusively online, with no store presence.
  2. Endless Aisle: Brands with in-store wholesale agreements offering an extended range online via Dropship.
  3. Concessions: Brands selling in-store and online, where their online orders are fulfilled via Dropship. Our Concessions team will discuss the details of this model with you upon engagement for Onboarding.

FAQ Guide

How long will it take and cost me to integrate with SPS?​

This is dependent on the type of integration method you select – average onboarding time can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 12 weeks.

Full integration can take longer depending on the nominated VAN and/or ERP.

Your SPS consultant will discuss options, pricing and timeframes with you. ​

SOH updates from SPS to David Jones happen at 30 min intervals from 5:30am – 9am, then 1 hr intervals from 9am – 7pm.

We do suggest if system integrated sending delta files to SPS so that we are always getting the most up-to-date SOH read. If utilising the OmniChannel please update SOH at least once a day.

We will apply separate terms to any products you sell via the Dropship Model vs. Wholesale Model.

This will be referenced on your financial reconciliation from David Jones. ​

Cancellations can and will happen both before and after an order is assigned to the Vendor.

It is essential for partners to maintain accurate SOH levels to minimise any cancellations.

DJs will also monitor cancellation rates and make contact if any issues arise​.

We encourage you to range as many products as relevant to create and build online visibility.

We will help guide you in this space to ensure a relevant and well-rounded offering to our customers.

Accurate SOH levels for any clearance lines is critical to avoid customer dissatisfaction. ​

Customers who wish to refund their order have the option to return their purchase to the David Jones Fulfilment Centre, or to any David Jones store location.

All customer contact is managed by David Jones Customer Services. We will work with you on options for stock management post return to our stores of Distribution Centre.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) of business documents between the vendor and David Jones.

EDI Modules required:

  • Purchase Orders (ORDERS)
  • Purchase Orders Response (ORDRSP)
  • Despatch Advice (DESADV)
  • Inventory Report (INVRPT)
  • Price/Sales Catalogue Message (PRICAT) [for concessions]

This will be dependent on the channel/model (Online Only, Endless Aisle or Concession).

For Concession brands – pricing is managed at the discretion of the vendor.

This will be done via our PIM Portal which we will give you access to.

We provide self-paced training to ensure you are comfortable with managing all your assets.

Images supplied by Vendors must be consistent with their product group on the David Jones web store and adhere to the David Jones Photography Style Guide requirements.
